Wa Campus Elect SRC Executives

The best way to make students prepared for corporate relations is to participate in the selection of their leaders; those who would take on the responsibility of spreading knowledge through inspiration, tutoring, campaigns etc. The diffuse and highly personalised character of the mass support that such leaders obtain insulates them from public pressures once in office and this frees them to act responsibly in the public interest.
Winning elections is the principal imperative, the main source of power and the key test of leadership. Student leaders must cope with this electoral imperative and accept that their success depends vitally on winning votes.
From the office of the Electoral Commissioner of UDS Wa – Campus, the following are the final results of the just ended SRC/NUGS elections;

Total Votes cast = 3,288
For the SRC Presidency
152 (46.23%) chose NYASS MAHAMA as their favorite and ABLEDU BRIGHT SAKYI had 1744 making 53.04% of the casted votes.
12 abstained, and 12 couldn’t complete the processes.

And for the Local NUGS President;
HAMZA UMAR had 1722, equaling 52.37% of the votes and IBRAHIM RUFAI also had 1532(46.59%). Votes abstain was 32 and those that was uncompleted numbered  2.

That of the Women’s Commissioner had an injunction placed on the results.

Congratulations to ABLEDU BRIGHT SAKYI and HAMZA UMAR; who are now the SRC and the NUGS Presidents elect respectively.
